This week’s featured food truck takes us to the streets of Syracuse, where donuts aren’t just breakfast—they’re an experience. Meet Glazed and Confused, the hilariously named donut haven that’s got locals lining up and newcomers instantly hooked.

Founded by local couple Roman and Izabella Valenti, Glazed and Confused started as a sweet dream and quickly turned into a CNY staple. Whether you’re grabbing a donut sandwich, trying a seasonal special, or just letting the sugar gods guide you, every bite feels a little rebellious- and a lot delicious.

Food trucks will book out events in advance and often put where the events will be in a schedule on their website. A food truck’s website can provide you with many things you may be looking for such as their menu, their mission statement, information about them, and more. 

Local Events

Many events often hire food trucks to provide food for whatever event they are holding. There’s a good chance that you could find the food truck you’re looking for by checking out local events around Rochester.

Every year from April to September, the Public Market in Rochester holds Food Truck Rodeos on the last Wednesday of each month from 5-9PM. Every Wednesday it is held, there’s live music along with multiple food trucks offering everything you want!

History

Food Truck Rodeos were started by Jim Farr in 2011 when he attended a similar event in Orlando, Florida. When he returned from the event, he loved the idea and pitched it to his staff and the owner of Rohrbach’s Brewery, John Urlaub, worked with Jim Farr to create Food Truck Rodeos. 

Rules You Should Know

Before going to the Rodeos, you should know these rules.

• No shirt, no shoes, no entry
• No smoking in or under sheds
• No pets except for service animals
• All bags are subject to search
• Each guest may bring in one sealed bottle of water; no other food or beverages

How To Go Prepared

Food Truck Rodeo brings in a ton of people, but has limited seating so it is recommended that you bring some extra chairs or even a folding table so you can enjoy your food without having to sit on the ground or stand.

Grilled & Thrilled takes grilled cheese to gourmet status with their innovative creations like brie and fig jam or buffalo chicken cheddar melts. They’re a unique food truck because they experiment with unexpected cheeses and artisanal breads for amazing combinations.
